Studio Days at my Studio in Wickwar, Nr Wotton-Under-Edge
- A series of one-day fused glass workshops Limited to a max of 2 people per day. Cost £150 per day plus materials. Includes a light home-made lunch.
- These workshops are not for beginners and are aimed at those who have previously attended my classes and are looking to develop their skills and knowledge in a small-group environment.
- Kiln management. Perhaps you have had a kiln for Christmas or are thinking of buying a kiln and would like to know how to get the best out of it? A mixture of theory and practice aimed at giving you the knowledge you need to make your kiln really work for you.
- Fun with Frit - an experimental fusing day using frits in all sorts of interesting ways.
- Focus on new techniques in fusing

Students work on their own projects at their own pace and have an opportunity to try Fusing, Leading and Copper foiling.

All workshops are based on a set fee plus an additional materials cost for each workshop which is payable on the day.
As a ball park estimate, at the fusing workshops people generally spend £30 on materials and at Copper foiling workshops £15.

Each day workshop will be either Traditional Stained Glass (Leaded Lights), the Tiffany Technique (copperfoiling), or Fused Glass.
If it is a Fused Glass Workshop all items that require firing will be taken to my studio for firing, and will be available for collection in about 10 days
Day workshop from your own venue - chek with Caroline to see if your venue will allow a COVID-secure workshop
I will bring all the tools and equipment needed to run a full glass workshop from your venue. You may choose from one of the 3 techniques: either Traditional Stained Glass (Leaded Lights), the Tiffany Technique (copperfoiling), or Fused Glass.
£360 per day for a 6 hour workshop (allow an extra hour either side for setting up and clearing up if you are booking a room) for a maximum of 10 people.

Additional costs
For all workshops there will be an additional individual fee payable on the day for materials and any necessary firing costs. Obviously this is dependent on how much is made but on average (including firing) most people spend approximately £25-£30 on fused glass, £20-£25 for leading and £15-£20 for copper foiling. Glass and materials may be bought at cost and for the fusing I charge for firing and slumping on a pro rata basis depending on the size and nature of the project.

Full payment is needed to confirm your booking
This can be made by either:

Booking is not confirmed until full payment is received
Individual course bookings
Cancellation up to 2 weeks before the workshop - a refund may be offered if the place is resold.
Cancellation within 2 weeks - no refund is offered.
Courses held at your own venue
We will need £100 deposit to guarantee your date, with the remainder payable on the day. If you need to cancel the booking then I can only offer you a refund if your date is resold. We are unable to offer a refund for cancellations within 14 days.
Who can do it?
Those attending the course will need to be able to apply approximately 2lbs of pressure with their dominant hand in order to cut the glass.
It is not advisable for pregnant and nursing mothers to do copperfoiling or leading but with Fusing there would be no problem.
Participants must be over 16 years of age.
